Transformation Programme Manager



Our Council’s Social Care Transformation programme is making major improvements to the lives of people who use social care services and their carers. The post holder will take overall responsibility for the management of the programme, leading the management of change to deliver a more personalised approach within and beyond social services, in line with “Putting People First”. The programme, building on Islington’s excellent 3 star rating for social care, aims to deliver more choice, control and opportunity for users. The programme is introducing major changes that will affect all social care users and staff, such as individual budgets and self-directed support, improving the range of care and support options by developing the market and promoting social inclusion. The programme team is committed to working with users and carers to develop and deliver these outcomes.



The primary tasks of the project manager are:

•To play a key role in the design, management, delivery and on-going evaluation of the transformation programme.

•To manage the programme and ensure programme outcomes are delivered.

•To create new projects within the programme, taking ideas and turning them into outcomes.

•To work with users and carers to deliver the programme’s aims and outcomes.

•To manage the programme budget of c. £1m annually.

•To support project managers to deliver their outcomes by providing expertise and advice.

•To manage the programme office support manager and the Programme Management Office (PMO) for the transformation programme
